Texas never ceases to amaze me. There’s mountains and desserts in the west, forests in the east, beaches along the coast, and our latest roadtrip destination, Hill Country, right in the middle.
It’s hard to believe this is Texas.
Son’s Island is located in Lake Placid, on the Guadalupe River, between Austin and San Antonio.
This little island is surrounded by water and trees and tropical plants.
The staff will set up your tent and cots for overnight glamping.
Early in the morning, the water is calm and the island is peaceful.
Cabanas, complete with tables, chairs, hammocks, and a charcoal grill, can be reserved for day and/or overnight use.
Each cabana also has a private dock.
The trees are giant and provide tons of shade.
A smaller stream runs through the island.
The water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.
A slide and rope swing provide hours of entertainment.
The water trampoline and mat are perfect seats for watching the rope swingers do flips.
The island is fun for all ages.
It’s absolutely beautiful.
Explore Texas, y’all! 💋
